Applications
are invited for two postdoctoral research fellow positions in the observational
cosmology research group led by Dr Stephen Appleby at the Asia-Pacific Center
for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Pohang, South Korea.
APCTP
(www.apctp.org), founded in 1996, is an international
organization dedicated to excellence in research and the training of young
scientists in the Asia-Pacific region. APCTP offers a unique research environment
incorporating a large diversity of fields (cosmology, particle physics,
statistical physics, string theory). Successful applicants will have a chance
to interact with various groups and broaden their personal research program.
Pohang is a pleasant coastal city in South Korea with links to Seoul and
Daejeon.
Successful
applicants will be expected to carry out research in cosmology, broadly
defined. Research interests of the group include large scale structure, dark
energy, modified gravity, dark matter, and late time observational cosmology.
Prior experience with Fortran or C is an advantage but not required. A PhD in
astronomy, cosmology or related field is a prerequisite.
Interested
applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list,
short research statement (including previous achievements and future proposal)
and two letters of recommendation via academic jobs online. The appointments
will be initially for one year, with extension of up to two additional years.
The application deadline is 06/11/2020, and the start date is preferably Q1/Q2
2021 (negotiable).
