ALMA Summer School 2021

The ALMA group in KASI is going to hold the 5th ALMA summer school in August 17 - 20, 2021 (4 days) at KASI. The number of participants will be limited to 15 to keep the social distance. The school program will include the principle of interferometery, CASA imaging tutorial, and hands-on projects using ALMA Archive data. Lectures will be given in Korean, but hands-on projects can be managed in English. The details are given below.

• Venue : Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute. Unhasu-hall

• Dates : August 17 - 20, 2021 (4 days)

• Participants : senior undergraduate students, graduate students, and researchers majoring in Astronomy

• Number of participants : 15 people limited.

• Registration deadline : June 25, 2021 (Friday)

• No registration fee, accommodation and lunch+snacks will be provided.

• Aug. 17 (Tue) : lunch provided at 12 pm, lecture starting at 1:30 pm (Introductory lecture on interferometry, CASA imaging tutorial)

• Aug. 18 (Wed) - 19 (Thur) : hands-on projects (external galaxies, ISM, star formation)

• Aug. 20 (Fri) : group project presentation and discussion
